These beautifully designed cushion covers are the result of a highly successful cross-cultural project between the Aboriginal people of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands (in Central Australia) and a family business in Kashmir. The artist's designs are sent to Srinigar, where highly skilled artisans translate the designs into these unique chain-stitch kilims (rugs) and cushion covers. This genuine ‘fair trade’ project has gained recognition for its cultural combination and is mutually beneficial to both communities.
